Delete your account

Everything you have ever said to UTTER IN, removed at once. Here is where the button is and exactly what it takes with it.

Last updated 17 August 2026

How to delete it

In the UTTER IN app, on Android or iPhone: open Settings, scroll to the bottom, tap Delete account, and confirm.

On the web: sign in at utterin.com, open Settings, and use Delete account at the foot of the page. You will be asked to type your own email address to confirm, rather than tick a box — it is the one string that makes a person look at what they are about to remove.

It happens immediately. There is no waiting period, no confirmation email to click, and no request for us to process by hand.

What is deleted

All of it, in one operation:

  • Every capture you have made, typed or spoken, and every transcript
  • Any voice recording still held at that moment
  • Every plan, task, reminder and note, approved or still waiting
  • Saved links and saved places
  • The names of people you mentioned in a capture
  • Anything sitting in your trash, restorable or not
  • Your notification device registrations, so nothing can reach your phone afterwards
  • Your display name, language and timezone
  • Your email address, and the account itself

What is kept, and for how long

Nothing of yours is kept on a timer. Deleting the account is not a soft delete and does not put anything anywhere for later — the records are removed, not flagged.

The 30-day trash is a different thing. While you still have an account, an item you delete on its own goes to a trash you can restore it from for 30 days. Deleting your account does not put your data in that trash — it removes the trash as well.

Voice recordings are deleted within 24 hours of being turned into text, and usually within minutes, whether or not you ever delete your account. See the privacy policy for the full retention detail.

If you are on a paid plan

Cancel the subscription first. Deleting the account will refuse until you do, and that refusal is deliberate: subscriptions are billed by PayPal, so removing your account here would not stop the payments. You would have no account and a card still being charged, which is the worst outcome available.

If you cannot sign in

Use the contact form and tell us the address the account uses. We will verify it is yours before deleting anything.
